Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital (TVEH) is a large 24-hour emergency and referral hospital located in Scarborough, ON, and we are welcoming a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician, RVT to join our Anesthesia and Surgery Team. While our network is large, we still offer that local community feeling, mentorship, and additional training!
- Work with their assigned Surgeon on appointments & surgical procedures
- Excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude and the ability to put pets and pet parents at ease
- Keep accurate medical records, answering messages and client communications
- Prepare medications, estimates, and billing
- Assist and perform anesthesia for patients across multiple services within the hospital
- Technical skills: physical examinations, patient assessment, venipuncture, catheter placement, peripheral nerve blocks, epidurals, arterial catheters and orthopedic radiographs.
- Review patient history, prepare flow sheets, and anesthetic protocols
- Coordinate with other departments as needed
- Obtain and prepare lab samples
- Patient management & care
- Willingness to learn and take on additional duties as needed
